Academy

The Academy is no longer offering basic regular 3 to 5 year TCM and Acupuncture training programs, instead it will focus on Acupuncture Treatment, Research, and Publications in Canada. Continuing Education, Refresher Courses, Clinical Training, Upgrading Post-Graduate Level Training Programs, Special Courses, Bhupendra Techniques Programs, and International Workshops, Seminars, and Conferences will be periodically organised all over the world in collaboration with local institutions.

The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia, Canada, an official licensing board, has kindly agreed to award the continuing education credits to the Academy's programs as per the education hours.

From now onward, the Academy will upgrade the theoretical and practical knowledge of practising Acupuncturists by providing them with the finer nuances of this ancient art of healing by beautifully blending the best of Eastern and the best of Western knowledge. It will help them to understand and appreciate the fundamental mechanisms of Acupuncture in treating a large number of diseases and disorders, based on the nervous system and using a modern rational approach. It is high time that acupuncture be accepted more widely and gracefully globally, which would be greatly helped if its basic mechanism of action in the field of therapeutics, anaesthesia, cosmetic, and preventive aspects were also explained on the basis of modern medical science, and in the language and terminology generally used in modern times.

For too long we have diverged, drawing a dividing line between each system of medicine, whether it is Western Medicine, Chinese Medicine, Indian Ayurveda, Unani system, Herbalism,or others, which only creates friction and confusion in the minds of the lay person. The time has come for us to get down from our pedestals and extend our arms to others and listen to the explanations offered by them with more patience and with open minds. An integrated system of medicine is the demand of the time, and must prevail. Unfortunately, those who like to constrict themselves within their own imaginary boundaries will be regarded by the public as arrogant, and will soon vanish. This concept has given birth to the Bhupendra Techniques of Acupuncture formed in the early eighties based on Prof. Singh’s Eastern and Western Knowledge, wide experience of treating thousands of chronic and so called incurable patients in about forty countries over the last 35 years of his medical career, after discussions with his colleagues and authorities in their fields, and his far sighted vision.
